You are here > Parents and Carers

Wecome to the Parents/Carers section of Pride 123

This interactive website brings parent-child education into the home. Parents/carers can access information about drugs, alcohol and safety in the home.

Often parents are worried that talking about drugs or alcohol may encourage children to use them. However, there is no evidence to suggest that by discussing health, safety and dangers that it encourages curiosity or experimentation. By talking to your child it shows your trust in them, that they can ask questions and come to you for help when needed. By being open and honest in the way you communicate, you can influence how your child communicates with others in the future.

From this Parents Zone you will be able to:

  • Find out what your child is learning at school.
  • Find out the information that is appropriate and relevant to your child’s age.
  • Download free age specific activity booklets to help you educate your child about Health and Safety.
  • Access our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) and common concerns page written by other parents.
  • If you can't find the information you can ‘Ask a question’ and receive a personalised response from the Public Health Consultants in the Manchester Healthy Schools team.
